Accounting Specialist, Receivables (Portland)

We’re looking for someone to join our Accounting team as an Accounting Specialist in our Lake Oswego, OR office.

The Receivables Specialist computes, classifies, records, and verifies financial data to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month end reporting.
  • Billing & collection of non-discrepant receivables exposure to basic discrepancies.
  • Lead in client communication with regards to billing discrepancy and resolutions.
  • Daily processing of cash deposits and competent on basic Treasury reporting of JP Morgan Access.
  • Maintain customer data.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close.
  • Ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.

  Knowledge Milestones:

  • Maintain documentation for all accounts receivable activity and correspondence in an organized manner.
  • Provide accounting assistance to clients, by responding to inquiries, recommending actions, and reconciling account issues.
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Review expense submissions for expense coding and process reimbursements
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and requests for internal stakeholders.
  • Collect and manage documentation for the company LOC.

Qualifications:

  • 0 -2+ years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping and related financial services background.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated history of motivated continuous learning and self-improvement.
  • Demonstrates outstanding in-person, oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits good listening and comprehension.

Computer Skills:

This job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by email and use scheduling software. Excel skills should include a working knowledge of pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
